Learn About the Go Pro Program ?

How long does the Instructor course take?

The IDC typically runs 5–7 days of intensive training, followed by the Instructor Examination. We'll build a schedule around your availability and make sure you're fully prepared before your IE date.

What is the Instructor Examination (IE)?

The IE is a standardized evaluation administered by an SDI Instructor Examiner — completely independent of your training team. It includes written exams and practical demonstrations in confined and open water.

Can I teach anywhere in the world after certification?

Yes — your SDI Instructor certification is internationally recognized. Dive centers, resorts, and liveaboards worldwide hire SDI Instructors. You're qualified to teach anywhere SDI operates.

Do I need 100 dives before I start?

Yes — 100 logged dives is the minimum. If you're not there yet, we can help you build your log through our lake days, pool sessions, and dive trips leading up to your IDC.

Is this included in the Go Pro Program?

Yes — the Instructor certification is the final step in our Go Pro Program, which bundles every certification from Open Water to Instructor into one all-inclusive price. Ask us about it when you call.
