ReActivate Scuba Refresher Program
PADI ReActivate — Scuba Refresher Program
Been a while since your last dive? You're not alone — and getting back in the water is easier than you think. ReActivate gets your skills sharp, your confidence back, and your certification current in a single flexible session.
Who This Is For
If you have a scuba certification but haven't been in the water for a year or more — or just feel like your skills need a tune-up before a dive trip — ReActivate is built exactly for you.
How It Works
ReActivate is smart — it adapts to what you actually need. Move quickly through topics you already know well, spend more time on areas where your knowledge may have lapsed.
- 01 Online Knowledge ReviewWork through the PADI ReActivate eLearning at your own pace — from home, on your phone, or anywhere that works. The program adapts to your responses so you focus on what you actually need to review.
- 02 Pool Skills SessionPractice your dive skills in a pool with your Texas Scuba Academy instructor. We come to you — your pool, a community pool, or a local aquatic center. No driving to a dive shop.
- 03 Get Your ReActivated DateComplete your session and receive an updated certification card recognizing your new ReActivated date — accepted at dive operators and resorts worldwide.

Why Refreshers Matter
Dive Safer
Skills fade with time. A refresher before a dive trip isn't just about confidence — it's about safety. Know your gear, know your responses, and dive with a clear head.
Dive Resorts Recommend It
Many dive operators ask for proof of recent activity. An updated ReActivated card shows them — and yourself — that you're ready to dive.
Private, One-on-One Training
No group classes, no judgment, no rushing. Your instructor works at your pace and focuses entirely on what you need to feel confident underwater again.
We Come to You
Pool sessions at your location — your backyard pool, a community pool, or a local aquatic center near Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio.
Common Questions
How long has it been — is it too long?
It's never too long. We've refreshed divers who haven't been in the water for 20+ years. Your certification doesn't expire, and there's no judgment here — just a focused session to get your skills back where they need to be.
Do I need to do open water dives or just pool?
The core ReActivate program is pool-based, which is enough for most divers. If you'd like to add an open water dive to build additional confidence before a trip, we can arrange that — just ask when you register.
What if I can't find my certification card?
Call us. PADI has a certification lookup system and we can help you track down your original cert. In most cases it's easy to verify your certification history even without your physical card.
How long does the session take?
Most students complete the eLearning in 1–2 hours and the pool session in 2–3 hours. The whole program can typically be done in a single day, or split across two sessions if preferred.
Is ReActivate the same as SDI's Inactive Diver Refresher?
They serve the same purpose — refreshing certified divers who've been out of the water. ReActivate is the PADI version; SDI offers their own Inactive Diver/Refresher Program. Both are available through Texas Scuba Academy. Call us and we'll recommend the right one based on your certification.
Do I need my own gear?
No — all scuba equipment is provided, including BCD, regulator, tanks, weights, dive computer, and wetsuit.
