Common Questions
Do I need CPR certification before starting?
Yes — current CPR and First Aid certification is required. If you don't have it, we can help point you in the right direction to get certified before starting.
What certification do I need before Rescue Diver?
You need to have your SDI Advanced Adventure Diver certification (or an equivalent advanced certification) before enrolling in the Rescue Diver course.
Is this course physically demanding?
It can be — especially the open water scenarios. You'll be towing divers, performing surface assists, and practicing rescues in real conditions. Being a reasonably fit, comfortable swimmer will serve you well.
Why do divers say this is the best course they've ever taken?
Because it builds real confidence. Most divers leave this course feeling more capable and self-aware underwater than any other course they've completed. It changes the way you dive — for the better.
Does completing Rescue Diver qualify me to become a Divemaster?
Yes — Rescue Diver is a prerequisite for the SDI Divemaster course. It's one of the most important milestones on the path to becoming a dive professional.
Do I need my own gear?
No — all scuba equipment is provided for your training sessions. You don't need to own anything to get started.
