Texas Scuba Academy is a mobile dive school based in Austin, teaching across Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas–Fort Worth. There's no storefront — I come to you. Pool sessions, classroom work and open-water dives happen on a schedule built around your life, not around a shop's calendar.
Instruction is led by me, Brady Huddleston — an SDI Instructor Trainer, a PADI instructor and an American Red Cross instructor. Whether you're getting certified for a trip, working toward divemaster, or coming back to diving after a long break, I'll meet you where you are. Literally.

Why I started Texas Scuba Academy
I kept seeing the same thing in the way certifications get taught. Too often a class is really a sales funnel: get students through the minimum requirements, walk them to the gear wall, sign the card. The training becomes the thing you get past on the way to the register.
I wanted to build the opposite — a school where the course itself is the product, and nobody is trying to close you on a regulator before you've finished your first pool session.
That means classes stay small, and you get the time you actually need. If it takes an extra pool session to get comfortable with mask clearing, you get one. Nobody gets certified on a schedule that suits the shop instead of the diver.
I teach the full range of SDI and PADI programs — Open Water through professional-level certifications — plus specialties like nitrox, deep, wreck and dry suit, and emergency response training. Every course includes all scuba equipment, so there's no rental add-on and no pressure to buy your way into the water. The only thing not covered is dive-site entry.
How I teach
Skill mastery over speed
Every skill gets practiced until it's solid. If you need another pool session, you get one — a good diver takes the time to get it right.
I come to you
No storefront. I book the pool, bring the trailer full of gear, and build the schedule around your life — in Austin, San Antonio, Houston and DFW.
Small groups only
Maximum 4 students per session. Real attention, real feedback, and real confidence by the time you're certified.
All gear included
Every course includes all scuba equipment. No rental add-on, and no pressure to buy your way into the water. The only thing not covered is dive-site entry.
Safety built in
SDI, PADI and American Red Cross instructor. Emergency response training isn't a side offering — it's built into how every course is taught.

I travel, dive, and live the sport. You're learning from someone who does this every chance he gets — not just someone who teaches it.
